Business travel insurance: medical and baggage protection directly in BizAway

BizAway now allows travellers to add travel insurance with medical and baggage protection directly within the platform.

With this new feature, insurance becomes part of the BizAway product offering, allowing companies and travellers to manage both their trip and their protection from a single platform.

Designed specifically for business travel

This is not a generic tourist insurance product. The coverage has been designed to reflect the real risks of corporate travel.

Business travellers often carry work equipment, follow tight schedules and travel internationally. Having coverage that reflects these realities helps ensure better protection and support throughout the trip.

What the insurance covers

The insurance package includes several types of protection designed to address the most common travel risks.

  • Medical travel insurance
    Provides coverage for medical emergencies during the trip, including emergency treatment, evacuation and repatriation if required.
  • Baggage protection
    Covers situations such as loss, theft or damage to personal luggage during the trip.
  • Baggage delay coverage
    Provides support when luggage is delayed during the journey.
  • Business equipment protection
    For travellers carrying professional devices, the insurance also includes protection for work equipment transported during the trip.

Transparent and personalised pricing

The insurance quotation is generated dynamically based on several factors related to the trip and the traveller, including:

  • destination
  • travel dates
  • traveller age
  • country of residence

This ensures transparent and personalised pricing, tailored to each trip.

There are also no surprises when plans change: the insurance follows the booking. If a flight is cancelled before departure, travellers are eligible to cancel the insurance free of charge.

Who can purchase the insurance

Travel insurance can be purchased by:

  • the traveller directly
  • a company travel manager or admin booking on behalf of travellers

The policy is always issued for the traveller(s) included in the flight booking.

Eligibility requirements

The insurance is available for one-way and round-trip flights, and can cover one or multiple travellers within the same booking.

All travellers included in the policy must:

  • have the same country of residence
  • be 65 years old or younger

Some countries of residence are currently not supported due to regulatory or risk constraints. 

Trip duration and purchase timing

Insurance must be purchased before the scheduled departure date.

The maximum coverage duration is 62 days. Trips longer than this period are not eligible for coverage.

How to add insurance to your booking

Travel insurance is available as a post-booking add-on. Once your flight is confirmed, you can add coverage at any time up until your departure date — here's how:

  1. Go to My Bookings, find the flight you want to insure, and click View Booking
  2. Scroll down to the Medical and baggage insurance section, located just below your flight itinerary
  3. Click Get your quote to start the insurance purchase flow
  4. Enter the required traveller information, review what's included in the package, and check your final price
  5. Confirm your purchase — your policy is issued instantly. You'll receive a confirmation email from BizAway, plus a separate email from battleface with your full policy documents

If your flight is cancelled, you can also cancel your insurance policy free of charge up to 3 hours before the scheduled departure time.

Need to file a claim?

Claims are handled by Robin Assist, battleface’s in-house 24/7 assistance and claims service provider. If you need to file one, you have two options:

  • Use the link included in the confirmation email you received from battleface after purchasing your policy
  • Or go directly to the claims portal, enter your policy details, and follow the guided steps to submit your claim

Have your policy number and travel details to hand before you start — you'll find everything you need in the battleface confirmation email.
